Dear Bolkrelation,

In late 2023, a number of committed colleagues decided to set up a staff association for all Bolk employees. Because they enjoy organising all kinds of activities and events themselves, but mainly because they enjoy allowing colleagues from different departments to meet each other in a casual atmosphere.

The first annual programme is behind us and had fun, educational, sporting and, above all, collegial activities.

Sporty colleagues could participate in the indoor football tournament where eight teams competed for a challenge trophy. Team CTT won with flying colours and can defend its honour next year.

Other sporting activities included Tot de Nek in de Drek in Vriezenveen and the YU MAN RACE (formerly StrongManRun) in Nijverdal. Bolk sponsors both mud runs and these events have had a loyal group of participants for some time. With distances ranging from 5 to 21 kilometres, there was plenty of choice for both recreational and serious sports enthusiasts.

The company visit to trailer manufacturer Broshuis, followed by a boat tour and barbecue, was both interesting and enjoyable. The visit to Broshuis was not only interesting for the visiting colleagues; Broshuis’ hosts also found it fascinating to receive feedback from drivers who work with their trailers on a daily basis.

Thanks in part to the glorious weather, the well-attended afternoon at the Molenberg in Reutum was a great success. Over 80 colleagues entertained themselves with E-choppers, ditch shooting and bird shooting. A squeaky-clean DJ turned it into a fun evening afterwards.

Finally, it was a great honour that St Nicholas took the time to visit Bolk. At least 25 children and some parents were allowed to demonstrate their singing and dancing talents for Saint Nicholas. The happy faces of the children showed that this event, too, was a success.

The staff association can look back on a successful first year and wants to work on next year’s programme with even more enthusiasm. We thank the staff association for their efforts and the way they bring colleagues together in an informal way.
